Description

Historic coach offers a tranquil stay with steam trains and Bodiam Castle views in the High Weald AONB.

Restored with love this 1960's heritage railway coach, located in the garden of the Bodiam Station, sleeps up to 5 guests, on the Kent Sussex Railway. Great for those looking for a unique and historic stay in a fabulous rural location in the High Weald AONB.

The coach has been sympathetically restored and nowhere is this more apparent than in the 1960's style master bedroom with its wood panelling. This room has its own private en-suite bathroom for those looking for privacy. The coach also houses a twin bedroom and family shower room, plus the sofa in the open plan living area sleeps one extra guest. Of an evening you can stay warm and cosy with the heating on and enjoy relaxing in front of the TV or using the wifi to share your experience with your loved ones.

There is a fully equipped kitchen for those who wish to self cater and a handy breakfast bar for dining. When the sun is shining, you can head out onto the deck and enjoy dining al fresco at the table or use the BBQ in the garden to cook up a delicious feast. If you prefer you can head down to the garden where a circular picnic bench offers the ideal place for a morning cuppa or evening drink whilst planning the day ahead.

Whilst here you can explore the surrounding gardens, that were previously owned by the Guinness family and from where hops were grown for the brewing of beer. The stunning Bodiam Castle is a must visit, and although it can be seen from the master bedroom window, a trip up close will leave you in awe. Climb the spiral stairs and imagine life as a knight in times gone by.

If you prefer to take to the water, then be sure to hire a kayak or rowing boat, and enjoy a gentle paddle down the River Rother, taking in the beautiful countryside before hoping on a heritage train to historic Tenterdon. Here you can visit Colonel Stephens Railway Museum - a must for all train fanatics or explore the unique architecture and independent shops before returning back to the coach and taking a short stroll to the local Castle Inn for a delicious meal or refreshing beverage.

There is a minimum 3 night stay with Monday, Tuesday or Friday arrivals. Weekly arrivals can arrive any day of the week.

Children age 12+ only. No pets.
