3 Rivers & Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge is a small award winning eco lodge, surrounded by rivers and rainforest, offering a range of eco accommodations from self contained cottages, to bamboo treetop houses, to camping and dormitory facilities, and the village family homestay programme.

There is a fully licensed restaurant and bar, and the lodge offers a range of nature, adventure and community based activcities to suit all tastes and budgets, including hikes, excursions, renewable energy and local craft workshops, and loads more.

The lodge is in an environment of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by pristine rivers and mountains.

It is within walking distance of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park World Heritage Site, and loads of waterfalls, making it the perfect destination for hiking and wildlife watching.

The island also has an abundance of hot springs, the world's second largest boiling lake, and a whole host of awe inspiring natural wonders.

One of the lodge's most fundamental aims is to live in harmony with, and have as little harmful impact on, those surroundings as possible. They recognize that their business has an important role to play in protecting and enhancing the environment for guests and the residents of the local community.

In keeping with this goal, every aspect of the project has the environment in mind. They espouse a sustainable lifestyle, minimizing their consumption of all resources, using renewable energy, and monitoring all systems. They compost all kitchen and garden waste, try to avoid purchasing packaged goods, shop locally, recycle and use biodegradable products, and strive to keep their waste products to a minimum.

An important aspect of this policy is to involve the local community. The employees come from local villages, and are trained in sustainable living. They are trying to showcase environmentally sound practices, hosting free school visits and giving guided tours and workshops to all interested parties, explaining renewable energy, organic farming, and the sustainable lifestyle in general, as well as being involved in various local community projects.

The lodge aims to comply fully with, and go beyond, all environmental laws and regulations, to review the policy and practices annually and to communicate relevant information to all interested parties, from guests and locals up to government officials. They hope to can help Dominica retain its still relatively unspoilt environment, and move into a greener future.

The accommodations are all unusual and unique. The cottages and apartments are easy access, BUT the tree houses, dormitory and camping facilities are reached on FOOT ONLY, after a steep 15 minute hike to total seclusion in the heart of the jungle.

Prices from $50 a night for a minimum 2 night stay in the treehouse. Other accommodation from $40 a night or $18 for a dormitory bed.
