This Georgian Somerset farmhouse with unique & quirky decor is a perfect hideaway in a peaceful setting. Artist designed interior, original artwork, retro furniture mixed with a wood burner, flagstones, velvet sofas & French bedlinen. Fab local pub 2 minutes walk away.

Spacious, comfortable, calm atmosphere with a mix of unique contemporary and retro decor. Recently refurbished and updated with new efficient heating system. Entrance hall into country kitchen with inglenook fireplace and flagstone floors, archway into sunny south facing living room with velvet sofas and sheepskin rugs around the log burner set inside marble fireplace. Dining room has large copper table and seating for 8 people.

Wide stairs up to first floor and sunny bedroom 1 super king/twin beds with ensuite shower room, double aspect bedroom 2 with views to the Mendip hills at the front and the river and garden at the back. King size bed, freestanding bath, ensuite loo, living area with chairs & table. Climb the stairs to the third floor and be surprised by the very large third attic bedroom with ensuite shower room and loo, king size bed, twin beds and living area. Cottage garden with lawn, wood shed & mature magnolia and apple trees.

All bedrooms include hairdryers, Egyptian cotton and French linen bedlinen, handmade Bramley body & handwash, extra fluffy towels. Stays of 1 week or more include complementary welcome hamper with local produce and basket of logs.

Godney Arts House is self catering. Owners Simon & Jane live next door and guests welcome to look around Simon's painting studio or pop round to have a chat and find out more about the local area. Most of the furniture, accessories and artworks are for sale.

If you have loved using the "Bramley" Shower and hand wash during your stay there are bottles available to buy.

Eco friendly consideration has been taken with heat from a wood burner, electric provided by PV panels on the roof and domestic waste and sewage recycled by biodigester plant.

No Pets.

Standard weekly lets are from Friday to Friday and begin at £950. Short stays of 3 nights from Friday to Monday are £590 and 4 nights Monday to Friday are £490.

Jane and Simon were the perfect hosts. Before we arrived, Jane emailed us with comprehensive information about local attractions and recommended shops - as well as detailed directions for locating the house.
On our arrival Jane and Simon offered to secure us a table at the lovely local pub, The Sheppey Inn - 100 years away.
The photos of the house don't do it justice! It was perfect and spacious for the 8 of us - with a big kitchen, large reception with log fire and dining area.
On our arrival, we were treated to some local produce - cheese, apple juice and bread.
The beds were super comfortable and each bedroom had ensuite loo plus shower/bath - all to a very high boutique hotel standard.
Our stay has been absolutely fantastic! Lower Godney is very close to both the historic Wells and Glastonbury. There's also plenty of wildlife nearby with the Westhay Moor National Reserve within walking distance. We can't wait to return to the house and higly recommend to all our friends and families.
