The Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the western end of Kangaroo Island, between the Kelly Hill Caves Conservation Park and the Flinders Chase National Park. It is ideally located to offer you the opportunity to enjoy the world famous and unique natural environment of Kangaroo Island.
There are 6 self-contained beachside holiday log cabins with truly spectacular views of the beautiful turquoise waters of Hanson Bay.
The Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its abundant native bird and animal wildlife. During your stay at the Sanctuary you will have every opportunity to enjoy the best of Australian native animals such as Koalas, Kangaroos, Tammar Wallabies, Possums and Echidnas. The Koala Walk is open every day for Koala viewing and is recognised as the best place on Kangaroo Island to see a sustainable population of Koalas in the wild.
There are nocturnal tours and guided walks of the Santuary. You can swim in the bay, fish from the sandy beaches, dive for crayfish, surf the waves, or go for a nature hike in the bush. The western end of Kangaroo Island abounds in large tracks of natural bush, many varieties of native animals, plants and birds, as well as spectacular coastlines and sandy beaches.
Each log cabin features picture windows and spectacular ocean views of the rugged coastline. They capture the cooling sea breezes of summer, whilst keeping warm and snug in the cooler months with a wood fire.
Each self-contained holiday cabin contains 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and open plan kitchen and living areas. They have slate floors, electric over/cooker, refrigerator and a shared laundry. Full linen is provided.
