Hotel Burg Oberranna, 5 km north-west of Spitz an der Donau, in the heart of the Wachau. Standing on the steep hillsides of Mühltal Valley, it traces its roots back to the 12th century.
In the 16th century, the original castle was remodeled into a true defensive fortification, a fact still attested to by its ringed outer wall and defensive towers, as well as an inner and outer castle moat. During those 16th-century changes, a four-winged structure was created around a rectangular arcaded courtyard.
The 2-4 person apartments consist of a living room, bedroom, kitchenette, shower and WC. Double rooms feature a combination living and bedroom with kitchenette, shower and WC. A common dining room and guest lounge, along with a castle tavern are also available for the enjoyment of all guests.
