Ras Sinai, also known as the original 'Ras el Sheitan', is a desert village located on the Red Sea shore. The Ras is one of the first two camps that were established 20 years ago by a Beduin family outside of Tarabin village.
They made their home and resort using a 1000 years old building techniques and the traditional materials like clay and bamboo to retain the atmosphere of ancient Sinai and ecologycal harmony with nature.
The unique energy at the Ras attracted artists, and through the years has become a home for musicians from all over the world.
At night, The Ras is lit mostly by candles, allowing the natural light of the bright stars of the desert sky.
Ras Sinai's newly renovated restaurant serves delicious traditional dishes cooked by the well known village chef, made of local seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and hand-made bread. The kitchen is vegetarian friendly, and western dishes are available as well.
The huts at Ras Sinai are private and spacious, with an amazing view of the sea and Saudi Arabia mountains. Each hut is a unique design - some are dug into the mountain. There are private balconies around the huts, all equipped with carpets, mattresses and colourful cushions.
There are a variety of accommodation sizes for a single person, families or larger groups.
The communal shower and bathroom are western style, maintained and clean. Hot water is available.
Ras Sinai acoustic room provides a perfect home for music workshops and recordings. Providing a unique space for music and vocal activities that require acoustic and intimate atmosphere....There are artistic and spiritual guided activities on offer at times too.
Other local activities include swimming and snorkeling or diving along one of the world's most beautiful and famous coral reefs. Or take a flat boat that drifts slowly across the reef. Do yoga at the waters edge or have a holistic treatment.
You can always join a spontanious musical jam circle on the beach or just swing in the hammock with a book ... or write. For the more active take a camel safari in the desert or climb Mount Moses.
The bamboo beach huts are £3.50-5 per night although they ask that you eat 2 meals in the restaurant a day as well.
