Biei Potato-no-Oka

A lodge just ouside Biei, famous for its lavender fields in July and August, but beautiful all year round. In the winter months, cross country skiing could be experienced. There are 18 rooms in all including 2 cottages (sleeping up to 4/6 people), 4 log houses (sleeping 4-7 with age restrictions for the loft part accessed by ladder). There is a Western style room for up to 3 guests otherwise typical roll out beds are put on mats on the floor.

In the main building there are 2 dormitory rooms for 4 ladies and 4 men plus private rooms some with en-suite and some with shared facilities.

The lead in price for a dorm is 6900 yen or 7700 yen per person in a log cabin including 2 meals, breakfast and dinner. There are discounts for Youth Hostel members. A cottage sleeping 4 people starts at 27000 yen per night.

Guided cross country skiing tours are free for guests at the hostel!

There is communal Wi-Fi, washing and dining areas, plus washing machine etc. If you don't have your own transport, ask about being collected and hiring bikes to experience the area.
