At Skipwith Station, just south of The City of York, you can discover this beautifully converted ‘loading bay' – Blackberry Halt. Sleeping 2 in an ensuite bedroom, but it is also possible to add 2 children on an aerobed if required. It is situated on the old Derwent Valley Light Rail line, once known as the Blackberry Line because of all the blackberries on Skipwith Common which is adjacent!
Now unrecognizable from its former life as a loading bay this stylish conversion offers guests the chance to unwind in a luxury! Here you can enjoy your own private courtyard with exclusive use of a bubbling hot tub! Inside there is an open plan kitchen with all mod cons and a dining and living area with TV/DVD player and free wifi. The bedroom with wooden sleigh bed and ensuite bathroom is situated on the ground floor, whilst if you climb the stairs to the gorgeous mezzanine level you will find extra sofas offering amazing countryside views, a perfect place to relax. There is plenty of space here for 2 aerobed inflatable beds for children. This property offers underfloor heating for that cosy feel.
There is great walking on Skipwith Common (Natural England) and the sights of The City of York are just half an hour away - the Minster, The Shambles, The National Railway Museum, The City Walls and a superb range of independent shops.
On site there is a large well kept garden with badminton and croquet available, plus a trampoline and swingball for the kiddies and lots of happy chickens roaming free!
Prices from £125 a night for 3 night minimum stay, or from £108 a night for a weeks stay. 2 children can be added at £10 each per night on an aerobed.
No pets.
*There are also 3 carriages on site. See Lady Deramore (sleeps 4), Derwent Flyer and Derwent Mail (each sleeping 4, dog friendly) also listed on QuirkyAccom.com.
