Casterne Hall is a Grade ll listed manor house in the Peak District, voted one of England's favourite houses by 'Country Life' readers. It has been in the same family for 500 years. Several films have highlighted the beauty of the house and the stunning surroundings.
Casterne is located in the Peak District National Park, just over a mile from Ilam, Derbyshire. It is surrounded by fantastic walking and cycling trails and beautiful countryside, with excellent views of the famous Manifold Valley. The Derbyshire Dales and the Staffordshire Moorlands are within easy reach. Alton Towers is 20 minutes away, while the great houses of Derbyshire - Chatsworth, Haddon, Kedleston, Calke, Hardwick, Sudbury etc. are all a car ride away. The George gastro-pub is nearby, and the lovely market town of Ashbourne 6 miles away.
There are 3 bed and breakfast rooms offered. All rooms are furnished to the highest standards of taste, comfort and elegance. Guests also have access to the sunny terrace, large garden and extensive grounds.
WiFi available. Children welcome. Dogs and horses accepted. Packed lunches, lunches and dinners are available by arrangement. Your hosts, Charles and Caroline, live in the house and Caroline and her daughter are well known chefs.
All rooms are priced at £130 per night. £85 for a single person staying. Dogs welcome (£10 charge).
