Heritance Kandalama

Kandalama, Matale, Sri Lanka

A 5 star hotel immersed in its forest location with breathtaking views over Kandalama Lake. With rooms for 2-4 people. Hot tub included.

Description

Watch the hotel emerge from the lush foliage of the mountainside. Enter the fantasy ambience of the 5 star bliss suspended in a natural dreamscape. Relax and let your vision blend the sapphite blue of the infinity pool with the cool grey of the Kandalama Lake, where time has stood still for 2000 years. Wander the corridors amongst the twittering swifts and befriend the monkeys lazing among the branches. Watch green blend into green from floating rooftop lawns to virgin woodlands. Gaze upon the Sigirya rock citadel from your room window. Absorb the magic of Kandalama; transcend time and reality.

There are 130 rooms in all, of varying standards but all have a balcony and look out to the jungle, some with incredible views over the surrounding landscape and Kandalama Lake also. Vines cascade over the balconies making the hotel part of its environment. Deluxe rooms and suites have private jacuzzi baths.

There is a spa, a gym, 3 pools (the most dramatic being the infinity pool that blends with the lake behind it), a business centre, tennis court and other games/sports facilities are available. The views from the main buffet restaurant are breathtaking. There are also 2 other restaurant options offering fine dining and a la carte menu. An extensive breakfast is offered buffet style. Many excursions are available to book. There is so much to see and do in the area, from visiting Sigiriya rock fortress to seeing elephants in the nearby National Parks.

The hotel has a green philosophy that not only protects the bio diversity and conserves the forest around it, but also works on saving energy and water, reducing waste and recycling it, as well as helping the community.
