THE YURTS ARE CLOSED IN WINTER - OCTOBER UNTIL END OF MARCH.
Set deep within 80 acres of meadow and woodland you can find 5 Mongolian yurts sleeping from 5-7 people on the edge of the beautiful Wye Valley, near Chepstow. The yurt site has a Quality Assured award.
There is plenty to do and see on this farm site with children loving the freedom of outdoor space and adults loving the tranquility and beauty of the area. Enjoy many walks around the grounds, taking time to spot the farm animals including the Highland cattle, Soay sheep, many chickens and Tilly the farm dog. Challenge the children to a game of badminton or boules or make a den in the forest before splashing in the river. After a busy day enjoy a stroll to the local village for dinner in the pub. Further afield you can visit the towns of Monmouth, Tintern and Raglan. Those looking for adventure can try canoeing, rock-climbing, mountain biking and paddleboarding all within 10 miles of the site. Alternatively take in some culture with a visit to Tintern Abbey, where you can explore the ruins before enjoying a cuppa at one of the local village cafes.
Back on site, relax on the terrace of your yurt and take in the stunning views of the Welsh countryside. Enjoy cooking on the BBQ and dining al fresco taking in the fresh air whilst enjoying good food and good company. What better way to disconnect from the world and reconnect with family and friends!
Inside the yurts you can find a (super) king size bed, Mongolian day bed and 2-4 futons. They have been decorated in traditional yurt style with wall hangings and ethnic furniture. A central woodburner keeps the yurt toasty warm at night whilst you enjoy a spot of star gazing through the roof, what better way to drift off to sleep! Pillows are supplied but you need to bring your own duvet and sheets or sleeping bags.
All the yurts are in the same area but offer different facilities with Yurt 1 having its own private kitchen hut with fridge freezer, oven and grill, microwave and even an espresso machine! If you are looking to go with friends then these facilities are best shared with Yurt 2. There are compost toilets available close to yurts 1 and 2 with the other yurts being close to the modern shower and toilet block just a short walk away. A communal kitchen with all mod cons and safari tent dining area is a great way to meet the other guests on site and as camping isn't allowed, there will never be more than 31 people on site.
Arrivals on Mondays and Fridays with minimum 3/4 night stay.
The Yurts are closed from October through to the end of March.
