WEEKLY BREAKS FOLLOWING LOCKDOWN FOR SUMMER 2021! SAT ARRIVALS FOR 7 NIGHT STAYS APRIL-OCTOBER.

Retreat to the Essex countryside and enjoy a stay in a restored 1880's Great Eastern Railways train carriage for 2+2 people near Halstead and Colchester.

The carriage offers home from home comfort with a double bedroom with balcony at one end of the carriage and a double sofa bed in the living area thus suiting a romantic stay for a couple or a family staycation. The carriage is cosy in winter with heating and cool in summer with full air conditioning.

The carriage comes complete with a living area with Freeview TV & DVD player, plus various board games for a spot of good old traditional entertainment. The kitchen and dining area has a combination microwave oven plus a fridge and even a slimline dishwasher! You can enjoy a stay here all year round with heating available for winter stays and air conditioning for summer visits.

Outside you can relax in the garden and enjoy the countryside views as far as the eye can see. Be sure to make use of the charcoal BBQ supplied and enjoy a spot of al fresco dining! Children will love the freedom of the meadow and delight in spotting some wildlife too, including pheasants and even deer!

Locally you can enjoy a bike ride, a stroll through the countryside to one of the local pubs or a visit to the Norman Castle of Hedingham or the Roman town of Colchester. Why not complete your rail carriage stay with a ride on a working steam train at the Colne Valley Railway Museum or visit East Anglian Railway Museum both a short drive away - fun for all the family!

There is a minimum 3 night break with Tuesday and Friday arrivals in low season (November until Easter). The rest of the year only weekly breaks are available with starting dates on Saturdays offered.
