Housekeeping Camp

Yosemite National Park, California, USA

Camping style accommodation along the Merced River in the heart of Yosemite National Park.

Description

Housekeeping Camp in Yosemite National Park is open from April to October and is a popular budget accommodation for those who like to camp but don't want the hassle of setting up their own tent. There are 266 units which sleep up to 6 people. Housekeeping Camp is the only property in the Park which has a campfire ring for outdoor cooking.

Situated along the Merced river in the centre of Yosemite, the camp has sandy beaches for sunbathing and swimming. There are views of Half Dome and Yosemite Falls. Guiding walking, hiring bikes, bus tours, trail rides, rock climbing, shops and restaurants are all close by.

Each unit has 3 concrete walls, concrete floor, a canvas curtain/door & roof. The curtain separates the sleeping area from the covered outside picnic table and bear (and bug) proof food storage lockers. Inside there are bunkbeds, double bed, chairs, table, mirrors and electric sockets. Two additional beds may be included to sleep up to 6 people. Sheets, blankets and pillows may be rented at an additional cost. There is communal shower and toilet block a short walk away, with towels and soap.

No TV or telephones in this property. Firewood can be purchased at the onsite shop. Free car parking at your unit.
