Surrounded by lush organic gardens, inspired by permaculture and woodland, is a spacious, stunning converted holiday barn in an old stone farmhouse. This hidden site at the base of the Ariége Pyrenees in the middle of the woods is secluded and peaceful with no roads, no noise and no neighbours.

Rimont, just 3 kilometres away is the nearest village and has a bakery, grocery stores, an artisanal distillery/bar which also stocks local produce, a post office and a renowned charcuterie (deli). The small village also has a beautiful twelfth century abbey, Combelongue, that also has lovely gardens. The Ariège has around 5000 km of marked footpaths to explore.

L'Atelier d'Artiste is a spacious and light holiday gîte for 2. The building is created from a former barn that was previously an art restoration studio and workshop at one end of the long main building and surrounded by lush green gardens and woodland. Inside is a spacious open plan sitting room with well equipped modern oak kitchen and dining area, a bedroom with king size bed, second sitting area, large bathroom with XXL shower, double French doors lead out onto the private terraces and garden with sun loungers, parasols, deck chairs and small tables.

Provided for you in the kitchen is far more than just the essential cooking/ dining equipment for a self-catering accommodation. There is also basic cleaning materials, bedding, a few useful foods such as sugar and cooking oil. For your entertainment, you will find a variety of Books, music, hifi, TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, WiFi internet access, walking maps and guides, access to house library, binoculars, walking poles, astronomical telescope and much more.

The minimum booking period is 7 days. €635 for 7 nights, after this the price will increase at the pro-rata rate for each further night up to €1225 for 14 nights.

From the materials in the building itself to the way that the garden is managed, the owners have taken a lot of care into ensuring that the site is eco friendly, so please respect this during your stay.

A maximum of 1 medium size dog (large Labrador or smaller) accepted in L'Atelier d'Artiste - there's no formal charge but a donation of at least €40 is asked by the owners to give to one of the dog charities that they support each year.

Open mid-May to mid-September.
