Mill Office Cottage is an imaginative conversion for 2 people of the former Mill Office, a really pretty spot with a Japanese garden in Ponsanooth, Cornwall.
Enjoy this tranquil spot, surrounded by nature, the river Kennall runs past the door, if you are lucky you will see the kingfisher flash by or catch site of the dippers coming to feed. In spring the woods are full of bluebells and in summer yellow iris and gunnera thrive beside the water's edge. Situated next to a private nature reserve in an Area of Outstanding Beauty and World Heritage Site this is a lovely area to explore. There have been Mills here since the 15th century.
The sitting room is large and bright with a Victorian feel, from this room behind secret panelling, which disguises a door you go down some steps to the kitchen where you will find the small but perfectly formed kitchen and bathroom here all is bespoke slate and craftsmen-made wood. Open the kitchen door and you will find your own private wild garden a simple oak bench and granite stepping stones down to the river.
Included is bed linen, "faith in nature" toiletries, set of towels one hand one bath, (please bring own beach towels), kitchen essentials and welcome tray.
The cottage is well placed to explore Cornwall with many North and South coast beaches an easy drive. Alternatively, it is just a short walk to the nearby village where there are regular bus services around the area. (For car-free visitors booking through QuirkyAccom.com. the owners can offer a pick up from the train station in an electric car).
