Oak Grove Retreat Mini Breaks at Doldowlod Old Station Caravan Park is in the heart of Mid-Wales, 3 miles south of Rhayader across a meadow from the beautiful River Wye.
For a special glamping experience,come & stay in the Vintage Cambrian Railway Box Carriage with its stunning stunning views of the River Wye meadow and the Cambrian mountains. It has a king-size bed, wood burner, free view flat screen TV oven, hob, fridge, electric kettle & toaster plus everything you need for self-catering. The box carriage is fully insulated so it keeps very warm and there is also an electric radiator if you prefer not to light the burner. There is a lovely decked balcony and outside furniture. Your own private heated and lockable WC and shower room is located just 15 yeards away (see images in the photo's section).
This site is in an idyllic area of stunning countryside, surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains. It is also within a short distance of the many attractions that this part of mid-Wales has to offer including walking through the scenic landscape, fishing, bird watching, mountain biking and a number of other great outdoor activities. It is in a World Dark Sky Park in the Cambrian Mountains and 200 yards from the River Wye. Within 10 minutes drive is the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells plus, Rhayader and the picturesque Elan Valley are just 3 & 5 miles away respectively. Hay on Wye famous for its bookshops and the world-famous Hay Festival is 30 minutes away and 1 hour of driving past spectacular mountains and countryside will bring you to the glorious seaside resort of Aberystwyth. For convenience, you will find a petrol station, mini supermarket and a café just 200 yards from the park.
At the entrance to the park, there is the log cabin reception: Covid regulations currently require the reception cabin to be closed but they will meet you there at a pre-arranged check-in time: just keep them informed as you travel of your anticipated arrival time.
Dogs are welcome.They must be on a lead at all times and are charged at £15 per pet per stay (max 2 small/medium or one large dog).

This is a quiet park and noise is never tolerated so it is not suitable for a party venue. Wifi is available on a Pay-as-you-Go £9.50 per week tariff. Bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels are extra at £10 per room per stay. Barbecues are allowed (off the ground).
