Outposts Bush Camp at Lydeard Farm is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The three simple, cosy, wooden lodges are tucked away in your own private hidden valley, nestled in the Somerset countryside. A secluded haven, on the edge of the wild Quantock Hills, and not far from the coast, with stunning views across the farmland and hills beyond. With bird song as your alarm clock every morning, we know you will find our lodges a relaxing retreat. A complete getaway from the “madding crowd”. No wifi, little mobile reception, just yourselves in a beautiful spot of pristine countryside.
Due to the Covid 19 situation at present the owners are letting the bush camp with very few “soft furnishings” and only basic kitchen utensils and minimum cutlery and plates. This is for your own peace of mind and safety as it’s easy to thoroughly clean. Suggest you bring your own added essentials for your stay. In the future they can provide everything and make rooms more welcoming and comfortable, but currently, please enjoy it with the basics of comfort, with hooks and coat hangers for hanging clothes but no provision for ‘putting your clothes away’. Thank you for your understanding.
COMMUNAL AREA & COOKING FACILITIES
A short walk from the lodges, is the unique Bush Camp Shelter, surrounded by woodland and pasture. With its soft lighting and wood burner, you really are off grid and can get back to nature in a beautiful oasis of calm. This is where you will find the kitchen facilities and the rustic dining room forms the main communal space of the Bush Camp. Outside, the braai (BBQ) area provides plenty of space to sit and relax in the sunshine, or around the campfire under the canopy of stars at night.

The lodges have three cosy wooden clad bedrooms. Two smaller rooms with bunk beds and a larger room for two with plenty of room for a cot if you want to bring young children.
