Polidora

Polidora is a romantic B&B; in a very unique setting in Laveno Mombello, Italy. It is set on the edge of the beautiful Lake Maggiore within the stunning Intragnola Botanical Gardens. The Intragnola gardens are some of the largest and most valuable gardens in Europe. In the 1920's, Albert Coates, an English composer and conductor, used to visit Polidora and stroll along the shore of the lake with his friends.

The Intragnola gardens cover 7 acres of land and almost a mile of shore. They are some of the largest private botanical gardens of Lake Maggiore. There are many different types of trees and flowers, making Polidora the ideal destination for nature lovers and those wishing to escape to a relaxing haven. There is a view of the Alps from the garden.

What was once a farmhouse in the early 1900's has now been completely renovated into a luxurious B&B; offering 3 beautiful rooms. There are 2 double rooms - Azalea and Camelia - both with en-suites. Magnolia is a family suite for up to 4/5 people. There is a double bedroom and 2 or 3 beds in the living room. Each room has been tastefully decorated with antique cabinets and paintings, creating an elegant and traditional atmosphere.

A delicious continental breakfast is included. This can be served inside or under the pergola depending on the weather. There is a communal lounge with TV, WiFi, books, music and a cosy fireplace where guests can socialise and relax.

Facilities include air conditioning, satellite TV and parking. Dogs accepted. The Polidora has conference facilities and offers excursions.

A double room will cost between €130 and €150 per night depending on the time of year. The Magnolia suite is priced between €260 and €340 per night depending on the amount of guests and the time of year. It is possible to rent all 3 rooms for up to 9 guests without the services - enquire for prices. Special rates for children 4-12.
