A stay in this lodge allows you to re:treat from everyday life, re:connect with your loved ones, re:discover your love of the outdoors and re:fresh your mind and body. Re:treat Glamping simply have one luxury safari tent which means that when you stay here you have 16 acres of countryside and the adjacent pond and jetty all..to…yourself! A whole private playground for you to explore and enjoy with loved ones – Bliss!

With scenic and peaceful surroundings the lodge is in the perfect location to take a step back and simply enjoy good times with your family or friends. Inside the lodge you can find 3 bedrooms, one with a beautiful 4 poster bed, one with a den style bed and then a triple bunk room all equipped with a double memory foam and spring mattress to sink into! The open plan living space houses a large wood burning stove which not only keeps the lodge warm and cosy but can be used to cook up a feast too. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a large family size hot shower and the other a toilet and sink. The shower room has a lovely picture frame window so you can enjoy the views whilst relaxing under the hot water.

Outside a large terrace area houses a picnic bench, reclining chairs and corner suite snug on the raised deck which affords peaceful views of the surrounding countryside. The perfect space to enjoy relaxing with your family and friends or simply partake in a spot of star-gazing of an evening. The adjascent pond has an idylic jetty and seating to relax on under the trees and there is also a swing hammock to recline and relax in the grounds of Re:treat.

Re:treat Glamping have tried to think of everything you will need and included this as standard to make packing that bit lighter. Beds are made up on arrival with fresh bed linen and warm seasonal hypoallergenic quilts. There’s also a spare set of both just in case you need it. For chillier nights there are hot water bottles to warm your tootsies as well as a selection of snuggly blankets to keep you snug and warm. Bath and hand towels are provided for each person staying at Re:treat leaving you more room to pack your essentials. The shower room has a hand towel, bath mat, shower gel and shampoo. The cloakroom has a hand towel, toilet roll provided and hand soap. In the kitchen you’ll find a tea towel, hand towel, washing up liquid & sponge and free hand soap and moisturiser. All of the toiletries provided at Re:treat are British made & paraben free. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, standard kitchen utensils and cooking pots and pans. There is also a supply of locally sourced ground coffee, a variety of loose teas, sugar, a selection of local rapeseed oils, kitchen roll, foil and cling film as well as a teapot, stove top coffee maker and a whistling stovetop kettle. Re:treat also has a small solar powered fridge for storing chilled foods.

For younger guests a pedal tractor and trailor and pedal go kart is also parked up on arrival and a hamper of toddler books and games can also be requested free of charge. You'll also find a crafting basket with activity sheets and crafting supplies on the shelf as well as a bug spotting kit and pond dipping kit for spotting little critters. The games chest is well stocked with a wide variety of family favourite board games including monopoly, scrabble, dobble & risk. The outdoor games chest is brimming with games to set up and play including table football, swingball, rounders, cricket and a kite to fly on windier days. Favourites are the giant jenga and molky; an addictive skittles game.

Retreat Glamping provide you with an initial supply of wood, kindling and firelighters for the wood burning stove. Additional seasoned wood, as well as wood and charcoal for the firepit, can be purchased from the honesty box adjacent to the safari lodge.

Re:treat Glamping is eco-friendly. It is off grid, uses solar energy to power the lights and fridge and they actively encourage recycling by providing appropriate bins.

You also have direct access to a network of footpaths and pretty walks to 3 nearby villages and pubs (each around a 25 minute walk away). There is also a newly opened play park complete with zip slide, an assortment of swings and a play area for younger children which is only a 20 minute walk away. For picking up provisions there is also a co op in the nearby village of Silsoe which is a 20 minute walk away. Visit the stunning Wrest Park at Silsoe which has something for all the family to enjoy. Alternatively try your hand at something more adventurous with a visit to Aerial Extreme, Xscape at Milton Keynes or watersports at Box End Park. Fans of literature may like a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tours whilst little ones will love seeing the animals at Mead Open Farm.

As well as the many attractions available nearby, you can also book a number of additional extras to enjoy at Re:treat Glamping. These include freshly prepared meals (vegetarian and vegan options available), locally sourced BBQ and breakfast packs, reflexology sessions (individual & family/group sessions) and fishing in the adjacent pond. Private restorative yoga or meditation sessions can be booked in the peaceful surroundings of Re:treat Glamping during your stay with Rachel at Adventure Yoga. You can book a wide variety of classes from Vinyasa Flow, Meditation or a fun filled family session with the kids. Rachel even provides mats so all you need to bring is yourself! Guests can also book a fabulous family/group photo session in the beautiful surroundings of Re:treat Glamping with Kate Elizabeth Photography. Katie uses mother nature as the backdrop to create some truly stunning natural portraits. This means you can create a wonderful visual memory of your holiday together at Re:treat Glamping.

COVID confident Industry accreditation

We are accredited with Visit Britain’s ‘Good to Go’ scheme and the AA’s ‘Covid Confident’ scheme. Acquiring the Industry Standard mark means that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

To follow are the steps we have taken in response to both published guidance and our completed risk assessment.

Social Distancing

One of the great benefits of staying here at Re:treat Glamping is that we only have one luxury safari tent on our peaceful smallholding. This means that our guests are the only glampers holidaying here and that they have the whole 16 acres all to themselves to roam, relax and play.

We are also asking guests to continue to maintain the recommended social distancing guidance whilst exploring Re:treat Glamping and the local area.

Helping to keep everyone as safe as possible

We are taking a number of steps in response to COVID-19 to help keep everyone as safe as possible. This includes;

* Introducing a contactless self check-in and self check-out process for guests.

* Blocking out set dates in our calendar so that there is a minimum of a 72 hour window between guests leaving and arriving at Re:treat Glamping.

* Changing all mattress protectors, pillow protectors, duvet protectors and all bed sheets at every change over and replacing these with laundered protectors and sheets.

* Laundering every towel (regardless of use), bed blankets and hot water bottles (including covers) at every change over.

* In addition to the full clean of the safari tent at change over, cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces and frequently touched areas (e.g. cooker knobs, door handles etc).

* Providing antibacterial hand soap in the kitchen and bathroom together with visible reminders on washing hands, including before and after use of indoor & outdoor games.

* Displaying a visual reminder for guests on how they can help to keep themselves and others safe during their stay at Re:treat Glamping.

* Introducing a contactless method of paying for extras purchased from the honesty box.

* Asking guests not to come to Re:treat Glamping if they, or any of their party, within the 14 days prior to arrival, have had a raised temperature, and/or persistent cough, and/or loss or change to their sense of smell or taste, or are unwell.

We have also taken the temporary step to reduce our range of bookable extras to contact free items only. The revised list includes firepit hire (including wood & marshmallows for toasting), fishing permit, travel cot & highchair hire and the option to pre-order beautiful natural products from Lavender House.
