Shepherd's Huts at Walcot Hall

Lydbury North, Shropshire, England

Charming Shepherd's Huts for 1-2 adults (+2 children) hidden in a beautiful arboretum near Bishop's Castle.

***DISCOUNTED 7 NIGHT STAYS***
Reduced rates for weekly stays with Sunday, Monday or Friday arrivals. Priced from £230 to £280.

Hidden away in the arboretum within the Walcot Estate there are 2 Shepherds Huts to choose from, both hidden in separate areas with beautiful surroundings and views of the Shropshire hills. The converted huts sleep 1-2 adults and one also has a bunk bed that can sleep up to 2 children.

Ram Baa Shepherd’s Hut is a cosy converted hut that is right at the centre of the arboretum, surrounded by beautiful trees. Inside the charming hut there is a small double bed, cosy living area with bench seating and a gas burner to cook on. Step just outside the doors, sit down with a cuppa and enjoy the countryside views from the comfort of your patio. Open all year round. Dogs welcome.

If you are looking for a slightly more spacious hut then The Shepherd’s Hut may be better suited to you. This recently re-decorated hut is an original Roadman’s Wagon with a king size bed and 2 foldable single bunks above that are perfect for smaller kids. There is a log burner to keep you cosy as well as a twin ring gas hob for cooking. Enjoy sitting outside around a campfire in the evenings while watching the sun set, or if there is a bit of rain then you can seek shelter underneath the tent attached to the hut. Not available between 1st November until 1st April. Dogs welcome. This hut has no electricity or running water.

Please note that if booking The Shepherd's Hut for a family, there is limited space. It is recommended for children under 8.

All cooking equipment and bed linen is provided in both huts but please bring your own towels. Shared shower and toilet facilities are a short walk away.

Explore the arboretum and discover the many hidden treasures that the Walcot Estate has to offer, including hidden natural pools. If you want to go slightly further afield then there are many nearby historical castles and market towns that are worth a visit.

Prices for both of the Shepherd’s Huts range between £150 - £170 for a 2 night weekend stay or a 4 night midweek stay. They cost from £230 - £280 for a week’s stay.

Closed from November to March inclusive.
