With fresh air, tranquillity and fresh air aplenty, this huge shepherd’s hut has two bedrooms, a fully enclosed garden and fab mid-Devon location.
Surrounded by fresh air and tranquillity with panoramic views, this huge shepherd’s hut not only has a fully enclosed garden but is also close to some fab walks in rural mid-Devon. Inside, there is an open plan living area with comfy sofa, warming wood-burner, TV, dining area and well-equipped kitchen area, complete with full-size oven, fridge and all the equipment you will need for your stay. There are two separate bedrooms at either end of the hut – one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and single bed, as well as a shower-room thereby sleeping 5 plus a baby!
Shepherd’s Sky is nestled into the corner of a field, sheltered by the hedgerow behind it and with the hillside gently sloping away in front of it – you really can see for miles and will be treated to the most spectacular sunsets. There’s outside seating for dining al fresco and a fire-pit barbecue for toasting marshmallows, and even storage for bikes, should you wish to bring them. The dedicated owners have made every effort to be as eco-friendly as possible and the hut is run off renewable energy via solar panels.
The historic farm that this idyllic retreat sits on is just outside the village of Cheriton Fitzpaine, which has a welcoming, dog-friendly pub, really handy community-run shop and there is an excellent farm shop on the other side of the village too where you can try some local produce and tea and cakes in the cafe. The surrounding rural areas are dotted with ancient farmsteads with wonderful Devon lanes to explore.
