Converted from a 19th century run down farmhouse and winery, Tenerife Self Catering - La Bodega has 4 lovely, boutique, self-catering cottages that you will want to live in, and never leave. They each offer accommodation for 2 adults.

Located in the mountains of San Miguel de Abona, in Tenerife. La Bodega offers an authentic Tenerife experience away from the tourist resorts and hotspots, yet still accessible by car. In fact, La Bodega is ideally placed to explore the whole island; alternatively, it's the place to come to when you need to kick back, relax and recharge. It's been called "An oasis of tranquillity in Tenerife" by our guests, along with a "Perfect peaceful getaway," or quite simply "a fabulous hideaway of total relaxation."

Each cottage is uniquely furnished and is decorated "country style", with typical Canarian high ceilings including Frangipani Cottage, which also has an extremely rare, yet very attractive, original cane ceiling - once a common feature of early 19th century Canarian houses. All cottages have a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and lounge. All cottages has a king size bed, except for Jasmine which has 2 twin beds.

La Bodega offers good views of the surrounding mountains, all the way down to the coast. On a real clear day, you can see all across the strait to the nearby island of Gran Canaria, and sometimes further. The skies in Tenerife are so clear that you can see right up to the heavens, perfect for drinking champagne under the stars and talking the night away.

La Bodega has several relaxing sub-tropical gardens, water features, and an outdoor swimming pool and barbeque area. The place is a mecca for migrating birds and local wildlife (birds, butterflies, bats and lizards). Just recently, the screech owl returned to nest in one of the tall trees. A few weeks back, a little Jenny Wren was making it's home in a Washingtonian palm. In fact, there are some of the tallest trees in San Miguel de Abona, and countless flowers and bulbs, pop up all the time and spread around their little flowery happiness. At certain times of the year, guests are encouraged to pick the subtropical fruit from the orchard. So that they can have the freshest gin and tonics ever, or make the sweetest tasting Thai mango and chicken curry, or a big favourite, Venison Casserole with Pomegranate Jewels. And if you're not that great a cook, Sheila and Ray, your experienced and very helpful hosts have it on the menu - and people rave about it, that and her langoustines and garlic bread, and her lamb shanks in velvet gravy and not forgetting her apricot fools, tiramisu, you get the picture? She's a real good cook, and she will deliver home cooked meals to your cottage. Something which is not to be missed out on!

Ray and Sheila have lived on the island for over 23 years and are a treasure trove of info on where to go, where to eat and what to see on the island of Tenerife, as they strive to help make your holiday at La Bodega the best it can be.

La Bodega has a strict adult only policy, only children 18 and over are allowed to come. Bedding and towels provided. No smoking in the cottages.

Prices start at €623 for 7 nights for 2 adults. The minimum stay is 7 nights, unless otherwise arranged.
