Built in 1904, The Harpy Houseboat is a super luxury 5* historic houseboat with the postcard view of Tower Bridge, just 400m away. Royal visitors have included King George V in 1920 and many others since. A number of A-listers have used The Harpy as their London base. The Harpy sleeps 8 in 4 cabins. (Enquire regarding cot or the sofabed for 2 extra guests.)

This unique spacious accommodation (1,850 sq. ft inside & 2,500 sq. ft. of external wooden decks), has many famous landmarks in easy walking distance: Tower Bridge, The (new - 2018) Bridge Theatre, The Tower of London, London Mayor's office, HMS Belfast, Hays Galleria, The Shard, Borough Market, Maltby St Market, Bermondsey Antiques Market, The Fashion Museum, White Space Gallery, Southwark Cathedral, St. Katherine's Dock, Shakespeare's Globe, Tate Modern and St. Paul's Cathedral. The West End is easily accessible by a short tube journey on the Jubilee Line from nearby Bermondsey (10 minutes walk) or London Bridge Stations (15 minutes walk).

The Harpy is a perfect mix of original Edwardian features and details, an exceptional range of Heals 1920's oak furniture, eclectic art, kilims and African fabrics, with ultra-modern facilities including Fibre optic Wifi, SkyQ TV's (inc. a 55" curved screen QLED HD TV in the living area). Comfort features highly too, with a huge B&B; Italia sofa and beds with fine Egyptian linen, organic cotton mattresses, feather & down duvets and pillows. There is a study with two desks (one with a large screen), to catch up with a spot of work if staying for business. There are three wooden propeller fans in the living area and a flying model aeroplane over the stairs.

There are four cabins: The beautiful master Cabin 1 has a 1920's Heals oak four-poster bed (once owned by a princess!), with a view of Tower Bridge through electrically operated curtains, ensuite bath and separate shower. The sofa converts to a bed and the space accommodates a cot (crib). Cabins 2 & 3 have double beds and Cabin 4 has a double which can split into twin single beds. There is a full family bathroom and separate guest loo and basin. All cabins have Sonos speakers, Dyson fans, cupboards, full-height door mirrors, desks/dressing tables, stools, bedside cupboards & lights, hairdryers and intercom phones/door entry phones. All cabins have river views.

There are dozens of restaurants on your doorstep, however, a spacious kitchen with all mod cons; a coffee machine (with fresh organic coffee beans provided), filtered water, American fridge & ice-maker, 5-ring gas hob and oven, 6 seater kitchen table, and an 8 seater Heals oak dining table, make eating in a treat. Eating alfresco on deck, around an 8 seater dining table and another 4 seater, whilst enjoying the spectacular views of Tower Bridge and the River Thames, is even better. The living area, with 6 Sonos surround sound speakers, comfortably seats up to 10; the perfect place to rest after a busy day exploring London.
