The Yurt Retreat & Treehouse

The Yurt Retreat and Bird House is a Glamping site exclusively for Adults nestled at the foot of Castle Hill, where 2 luxurious 20ft yurts, 2 Roundhouses (a wooden yurt with bathroom, kitchen and outdoor bath), and one stunning Treehouse welcome you to a slower pace of life.

Set on an organic working dairy farm, the site is tucked away in a stunning natural setting with abundant wildlife yet easily accessible by road and rail (direct train from Waterloo to Crewkerne). All this with an award-winning Gastro pub within walking distance in the local village of Hinton St George.

Each yurt is south facing. You can sit and watch the sunset from your personal decking, across open fields and woodland. Look out for a shy herd of deer grazing in the mornings, and pheasants and badgers wandering out of the woods. The luxury 20-foot yurts sleep 2 people, each with their own private bathroom. They are beautiful structures with a stunning crown of hand-sculpted wood forming the centrepiece of the ceiling. Each is individually styled with beautiful furniture, fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedding. There is a comfortable double bed and a sofa as well as a table and chairs for dining. There are bedside lamps, tea and coffee facilities and even your own hairdryer. A wood burner provides a warming focal point to the yurt and outside, in the lovely gardens, you will find your own BBQ and a communal fire pit for marshmallow toasting and star gazing.

The Bird House treehouse has a wide staircase which winds between the trees leading to an ample decked area. There is patio furniture for alfresco dining, a BBQ and a firepit with a basket of wood. Inside your woodland retreat is a high vaulted ceiling with curved walls and windows with views of the trunks and leaves outside. The handmade bed, the rain head shower, the kitchen with quality appliances and stylish reclaimed wood, the handmade dining table and comfy sofa - the place has been created for your pleasure and comfort. There is WiFi, a DVD player, hairdryer and iron plus bedding and towels. Sleeps 2.

The Nest, a stunning roundhouse, is at the top of the site and has uninterrupted views across the fields. A wooden yurt with outdoor bath, bathroom with rain-head shower, lights/power/heating, kitchen, fixed double bed as well as alfresco dining, BBQ and fire bowl.

The Hide, the NEW roundhouse on site is as luxurious as they come! With a gorgeous open plan living space with double bed, fully equipped kitchen and luxury en-suite bathroom with clawfoot bath and large rainhead shower, why would you chose anywhere else? Outside is a spacious garden with a fire bowl, patio furniture and undercover outdoor bath!

The Lodge is the communal building, set at the heart of the Yurt Retreat with the yurts tucked around it. It contains a beautiful country kitchen with a large table big enough for everyone to fit around. Each yurt has its own food cupboard and crockery and shelf in the fridge (with small freezer compartment to share). You can listen to music on the stereo which accepts mp3 players as well as playing CDs and the radio, whilst cooking up a storm on the full domestic cooker. There is a lounge in the roof of the building where you can sit to read or watch a film on the comfy seats, and a bathroom.

There are plenty of activities on the doorstep should you wish to take part in anything from fishing to paintballing, visit a spa or take cookery classes. This is a great place to celebrate your wedding party with a marquee in the middle of the site, therefore it is necessary to book the whole site for this. There is a woodland sauna for guests use with a fee of £10 an hour, afterwards enjoy a hot or cold outdoor shower, sure to invigorate the senses!

The Yurt Retreat is open from the end of March until the beginning of October. Prices start from £238 for a weekend, £265 for midweek stays and from £530 for the week. Groups to a maximum of 10 - Sorry no Stag parties.

The Bird House is open all year. Prices are from £230-£360 for a 2-night stay. The Nest is also available year-round with prices from £220-£320 for 2 nights. Available from October to March is The Winter Lodge, a timber frame lodge that offers a romantic retreat for 2 people where you can warm yourself by the firepit and enjoy a spot of stargazing. Priced at £82.50 a night with a 2-night minimum stay unless it is a last-minute booking.

A refundable £100 deposit is required.
