Wardley Hill Campsite consists of a 6-acre site including some woodland, 3 ponds, a stream and spring and offers an authentic back-to-basics camping experience with all essential facilities provided. For those who prefer more of an unusual and quirky glamping experience, there are 2 Shepherd's Huts, a Hammock Hut and even 2 Tentsile Tree Tents that don't touch the ground!
The new ecological campsite in the Waveney Valley is surrounded by beautiful wildflowers and the countryside, the perfect environment for butterflies, bees and charming animals. The nearest train station is Beccles where you can catch the number 60 bus to Kirby Cane.
General facilities on the campsite for all guests include 3 composting toilets made from reclaimed timber, 4 drinking water points, a 24 hour hot shower free of charge, recycling facilities plus a car park at the top of the site with trolleys provided to transport your equipment.
'Hilda' the Shepherds Hut provides a snug accommodation for up to 3 guests. The vintage charm hut can make you forget that you are camping with its atmosphere, comfort and many modern conveniences: there is a set of lights that is run by an eco-friendly hidden solar panel (which also provided power to a 12v socket to charge your phone). The hut comes equipped with a double bed and a single bunk bed above with soft bedding provided, an authentic cast iron wood burning stove, exclusive use of a handmade composting toilet with a stable door, a solar shower and the windows even have shutters to ensure that inside stays cosy and warm. Outside you can enjoy dining al fresco at your picnic bench with firebowl and BBQ.

The Tinkers Hut is a well designed shepherd's hut ideal for a couple or family with one king size bed and 3 children's single beds underneath in a bunk bed arrangement. Offering a comfy sofa, plus a spacious kitchen the hut has everything you could need to totally kick back and relax. Outside you can sit on your private deck with picnic bench and fire pit with BBQ. There is also a private toilet accessed from the deck. As of 2021 the hut with have its own shower and hot running water.
£300 Friday - Monday / £300 Monday - Friday / £540 Friday - Friday / Dogs £15 per stay.
The Hammock Hut where you can sleep in hammocks (1-2 guests) inside the hut and stay cosy with a small gas stove, tea & coffee, solar lighting and forced air heating. There is also a sofa, small table and chairs and an outdoor fire drum. If you don't fancy sleeping on the hammocks during the night you can unfurl the sofa bed! Please bring your own bedding.
£65 per night. Dogs £15 per stay.
On the campsite, there are two portable tree tents to stay in which offer you the chance to get close to wildlife and true spirit of camping. The Tentsile Connect and Safari Stingray Tree Tent sleep 2 and 3 guests respectively and allow you to sleep up off the ground - suspended in the air between trees. Simply bring your regular camping gear with you and leave your tent at home. Please bring towels with you if you'd like to shower and your own pots and pans for cooking.
£50/£60 per night for 2/3 people. No Pets.
Touareg is a 4x5 meter bell tent with an extra high door. This tent will accommodate a family of four or be spacious for a couple. The tent comes with a real double bed with proper mattress and 2 futon bed chairs. The main beds will be covered with 100% cotton sheets, duvet cover and pillow cases. Tea and coffee making facilities will be provide along with solar powered lighting.
Dogs on leads are welcome in the huts. Campfires are encouraged in the provided fire drums or small campfires raised off the ground. Bags of wood are available for £6. Closed in Winter.
