Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage is a converted brick farm building set in its own grounds on the bank of a large, traditional Suffolk farm pond – a highlight of staying here is sitting on the decking, watching the sunset through the trees whilst admiring the various waterfowl and birds around the pond. Maybe it is just possible to hear the occasional tractor driving along our country lane (some 50 metres away) but otherwise, all is peace and tranquillity.

Immediately outside the Cottage’s entrance gate is a bridleway with links to an extensive network of well-marked public footpaths across the adjoining fields with stunning views over miles of unspoilt Suffolk countryside. There is also a well-worn path in the other direction to our local pub!

RSPB Minsmere and our Heritage Coast beaches at towns such as Aldeburgh and Southwold are about half-an-hour’s drive away.

Willow Cottage is in the grounds of a farmhouse, but with privacy from it, on the edge of the village of Badingham. The Cottage enjoys the benefit of a large lawn with occasional mature trees alongside the edge of the pond and is screened from White House Farm providing privacy.

Access to the Cottage is up a ramp from the lawn onto the over-pond decking area. This area is perfect for sitting out and enjoying a glass of wine and/or a barbeque whilst trying to spot a heron or roach swimming around underneath you. Access is through glass doors into the living area which is cleverly designed to retain some of the original features whilst being bright and airy with lots of glass enabling you to enjoy great views over the pond and the sunsets. Equipped with comfortable seating, TV, DVD and WiFi; a dining area and fitted kitchenette. Go through a door to the bedroom which has a complete bedroom suite consisting of a double bed, bedside tables and large chest of drawers and a door to the shower room with shower, washbasin, WC and additional storage space.

No smoking / No pets. Although Willow Cottage is an ideal couples retreat, children are welcome.

Minimum 2-night stay. Weekly bookings only in the busy summer weeks (23 July - 3 Sept) with Friday changeover.
