Windmill Campersite, set in the centre of the Isle of Wight, is a small, exclusive glamping site offering quirky accommodation including Galahad the Helicopter, 5 Shepherds huts, The Shack, 2 x 1970's VW campervans and Hive pods plus there is the Showershack and big Bertha - a large BBQ/pizza oven plus Mrs Firepit. The site is perfect for individuals, families or groups.

There are scenic walks from the site through the Clatterford streams, across the fields, around the moat of Carisbrooke Castle and the village with local shops and public houses (just 5 minutes away). For a larger town with a range of facilities, shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, just 20 minutes walk from the campsite is Newport, the main town on the Isle of Wight.

The following 4 shepherds huts allow Mon 4nt / Fri 3nt arrivals for 1-2 people £245-£345. Or 3-4 people for £330-£425 at peak times.

"Ellie" sleeps 2+2 guests and is a modern equipped unit with veranda doors, electric, mains water, small fridge, gas domino hob and a circular sink.There is a lovely brass double bed and 2 single beds. There is also a small stove which can burn wood or coal. Outside you can find your own Victorian privy toilet!

"Hector" can sleep up to 4 and has a rusty style on its exterior, yet inside offers comfort. There is a double bed, 2 small children's beds, a dining area and kitchen sink with hot and cold running water. Hector is equipped with a combination oven/grill microwave, fridge, electric domino hob, kettle and toaster plus a small raised patio outside. Also has its own toilet facility.

"Aunt Sally" sleeps 2+2 and have a double bed plus 2 small children's beds. There is a dining area with kitchen facilities and its own toilet.

"Dark Knight" sleeps 2+2 in a statement black and orange design. Inside there is a double bed with 2 small children's beds, plus a kitchenette area. Linen is provided.

"Millie" sleeps 2 guests. Although the smallest of the huts she is very cute! There is a double bed, a little washbasin and cold running water. Millie- £50-£60 for min 2 nights.

The hive camping pod can be added alongside your shepherds hut for £5 per night extra.

Galahad is a Westland Wessex XT469 Helicopter (with a lot of history!) that can accommodate up to 4 guests. The cockpit offers a great view of the valley. The kitchen has an American caravan style layout with stainless steel units with gas hob, triple sink, oven/microwave, fridge, a small table and chairs. There is also a small cloakroom with a WC, hand basin and bidet. Guests also have use of the Showershack for showers. The main 'copter' has a mini bedroom with a fitted foam mattress which has space for either one extra adult or 2 small children, the main double bed is located off the main 'copter' and has a cockpit dome above for stargazing. Outside there is a breakfast decking area and enough space to park a car.

Galahad - Mon 4nt / Fri 3nt stays for 1-2 people £395 to £495 and 3-4 people £465-£575.

The Shack - A 1940's design with thatched roof, old brass taps and a 1930's cooker. Other features include a spiral staircase which leads you to a double bedroom and with galley stairs down into the kitchen. There you can find a small eating area, cooking facilities and appliances, sofa, toilet/washbasin and another double bedroom. Bedding included.

The Shack - Mon 4 nt / Fri 3 nt stays for 1-2 £320-£440, 3-5 for £425-£550

VW Caravan Sarra can sleep 2+2 guests using the campervan with a 1970's caravan alongside. It comprises of one double bed, sink, fridge and other kitchen appliances and an outdoor BBQ. Alongside Sarra, the static Hive caravan pod sleeps an additional 2 guests. Please bring linen.

Sarra - Mon 4 nt / Fri 3 nt stays for 1-2 £185-£225 or 3-4 £225-£295

VW 1970's Splitscreen VW Campervan Bollywood, can sleep 2+3 guests with a double bed, a single bed and a pod next door which sleeps the extra 2. There are kitchenette facilities and an outdoor gas BBQ. Please bring linen. Low season price for 2 people from £145 for 4 nights.

Bollywood - Mon 4nt / Fri 3nt stays for 1-2 £165-£205, 3-4 guests £205-£265

Percy - One bike night. If you would like to visit the island on foot or by bike then stay in Percy! Just bring your sleeping bag. Minimum 2 nights for up to 2 people. £38-£45 a night.

Supplements apply during IOW Festival (8-12 June)

There is space for 10 small campervans, 6 of which can use hook up facilities.

As well as all these properties on-site there is also the Showershack which offers a modern shower and toilet facilities, with music, hot air - enriched with solar power electric and water. There is also a separate small shower room, 2 hand basins with mirrors, a urinal and 2 WC's. Spudomatic, a jacket potato oven and Big Bertha a large BBQ/Pizza oven are available for use plus Mrs Fire Pit which offers a place to gather around a small open firepit and socialise with the other guests.

On top of all that there is the SiloFAx Cinema, so remember to bring some popcorn with you plus Pigglett's Superstore, an honesty shop where you can get all your basics. NEW to the site is the Off Your Trolley Bus which provides a communal kitchen area with washing up facilities, dishwasher, fridge, kettle, toaster, pizza prep area and fine dining area (upstairs).

Dogs are welcome by arrangement for a small fee. Open from 1st May - 1st October.
