FAQs

Do I need narrowboat handling experience

No, we specialise in first timers and will take time to ensure you are happy how everything works and how to control the boat. We are always contactable should you need help during your holiday.

Are the locks difficult?

They can be daunting to start with but we will send you videos on how to operate them, talk you through the process before you leave and there are usually other boaters around who will be happy to help you if you run into any problems.

Is it safe for children?

Narrowboating is exciting for the little ones as there is always something new to see. They will need careful supervision though, expecially at locks and bridges. Lifejackets will be supplied and children should always wear one.

Can we cook on board?

We have a well equipped galley with pots and pans, utensils and cutlery and crockery for 6 people. There is a stove, oven, grill and fridge freezer.

Dare we ask about the toilet?

Nothing to worry about here. Its a normal flushing loo and we take care of things at the end of the holiday. We supply plenty of loo paper so don't worry about that.

Is there a shower?

Yes we have a shower on board and the water is lovely and hot. If you need more hot water it can be heated up easily.

Is there a fire?

There is diesel heating on board and a fire at the front for which we supply an initial stock of coal, firelighters and matches to get you going.

Do we need to get fuel or anything?

We fill the diesel tank prior to your departure and you shouldnt need to top it up as it's a big tank.
