Description

Enjoy a family-run, eco-friendly, award-winning campsite which has spectacular views of the Welsh countryside. Located on the edge of woodland on a 20 acre smallholding in Carmarthenshire, West Wales, a 20 minute drive to the Cardigan Bay coastline.

The Alachigh sleeps 6 and sits in its own 'space', separated by mature shrubs and trees with pathways made by hand-made stepping stones. Inside is a double and four single beds, a sofa bed, colourful throws, rugs, sheepskins, plenty of blankets, a log burning stove to keep you warm and a 2 ring gas stove. Enjoy eating your meals sitting at the breakfast bar whilst taking in the countryside views. All cooking equipment, a good supply of firewood and all normal camping paraphernalia plus a cool box with ice packs (replenished daily) is provided.

Outside you can relax by a glowing campfire by night, looking at an endless sky of stars whilst waking to the sound of birdsong in the morning. The woodland has many wooden sculptures adorning its pathways, a faery village, hammocks and a labyrinth. Enjoy dining al fresco at the picnic table or simply sit back and relax.

For use by all guests is a log cabin with full-size Calor gas cooker with an oven, a wood-burning stove, low energy power for mobile phone charging, a sink, a central table and it has also been made cosy with lots of cushions to sit and chat to fellow guests. There are 2 hot showers, a tiled compost loo and a standard flush loo too. Children can enjoy the play area on the edge of the woodland and den-building is encouraged!

If you are looking for a child-friendly, relaxed and sustainable alternative holiday, look no further. The entire campsite is run by alternative energy - wind, solar and water power. All cleaning products are environmentally friendly, and they supply eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner, soap and clothes washing products. There are also recycling facilities on site.

This is a quiet location, well away from busy roads and not far from both the Carmarthen Bay and the Cardigan Bay coastlines. Llangrannog Beach is a favourite and you can enjoy dolphin spotting in Newquay. Alternatively try your hand at horse riding on Llanllwni Mountain or visit the Iron Age Fort at Foel Drygarn, just over a 35 minute drive away.

Minimum 2 night stays throughout the year. In Easter there is a minimum 3-night stay from Friday to Monday, 4-night stay from Monday to Friday and during the summer holidays it's a 7 night stay, Saturday to Saturday.
