Birch Cottage is Northern Ireland's only totally off grid self-catering cottage. It is Green Tourism Gold accredited, Tourism NI 4* rated and the only Green Key Accredited property in Ireland. It sleeps 2 people in either 1 super king-size bed or in 2 singles.

The cottage is designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. On the farm, fruits, vegetables and herbs are grown, chickens and horses kept and wood fuel for heating and cooking is grown. The cottage is powered by sun and wind and built with chemical-free materials. Birch Cottage is the perfect countryside experience without sacrificing comfort.

The cottage offers a cosy living dining room space with a woodburning stove and underfloor heating. The kitchen is well equipped and comes with tea, coffee and other essentials. When it comes to sleeping you can snuggle up with your loved one in the king sized bed, or come with a friend and share a twin room. With views of the birch wood, what better place to wake up. An en-suite bathroom - with shower above, completes the cottage which comes with organic cotton bedding & towels included.

Birch Cottage is located on grounds with several acres of birch woodland, an orchard and vegetable gardens. There are beautiful mountain and woodland views over private woodland and it is close to forest parks, Mourne Mountains, and to the sea. For cycling tours, bikes are available for hire.

On the farm, courses of woodturning, basket making, spoon carving or permaculture are also offered.

Prices start at £70 per night in winter, plus a one-off £15 cleaning fee. There is a 5% discount for stays longer than 5 nights. 2 night minimum booking.

The cottage is only suitable for 2 adults, no children. No pets.
