Description
Blencowe Hall is an outstanding multi award-winning Grade I listed fortified manor dating back to the 1400s, that has been refurbished to sleep 24 people in style. The historical 12 bedroom building near Greystoke is great for family and group adventures, with many nearby activities to keep everyone occupied.
The 3 floor building contains oak panelling, ancient masonry walls and doorways, a spiral stone staircase, Juliette balconies and stone fire places. There is also a 4 door oven gas Aga, a separate hob, electric oven, outdoor BBQ, 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Plus electronics such as a LCD TV, DVD player and iPod docking system.
On the ground floor you can find a reception room with windows opening over the front formal gardens, games room with a billiard table, 2 double bedrooms with ensuites, a cosy snug, butlers pantry & utility room, kitchen with 4 door oven gas Aga and formal dining room. To keep you warm & cosy there is sustainable wood-chip central heating & open fires across the property.
To the first floor there are 5 ensuite bedrooms, a further 2 bedrooms, family bathroom & a large reception room with two stone fireplaces. The second floor is accessed by a spiral staircase where 3 further bedrooms with ensuites can be found.
Outside there a lawned gardens with a large Weber BBQ with patio and plenty of outdoor furniture to sit & enjoy the stunning scenery plus also access to a small river.
If you wish to add extra relaxation then enquire about adding a hot tub to your stay for an extra cost. The owners will also ask for a £30 surcharge to be added to the reservation to cover the cost of extra water & electricity.
The manor has views to nearby Lakeland fells and is just 4 miles away from the Lake District National Park, it also has a village within walking distance with a post office, shops and a local pub. Local activities during your stay include: Fishing in the River Petteril, clay pigeon shooting, spending the day cycling on a route that passes through Blencowe village and country walks as well as many other nearby attractions, museums and sites/venues to visit.
There is a 2 night minimum stay. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at a small additional charge, please keep them on the ground floor & do not allow them onto the furniture. No smoking. No hen or stag parties.
