Beachside or countryside, the choice is yours at this stunning area of natural beauty in South Devon. There are 7 cottages available, from a romantic Beach Hut for 2 to a Georgian Farmhouse for 11!
Located on the South Devon coast near Plymouth there is plenty for everyone to do. Why not trek across the Dartmoor National Park before finding a small village where you can enjoy a typical cream tea. Or try your hand at surfing, sailing or canoeing or simply relax on the beach. A visit to Buckland Abbey, Francis Drake's home offers a day of learning about history, relaxing in the gardens or walking around the estate.
THE BEACH HUT (sleeps 2):
The Beach Hut offers a place of refuge in today's busy world. A raised double bed in a loft area, which is accessed via a wooden ladder, a small kitchen area with gas hob, gas fridge and a large dining table can be found in the hut whilst a compost toilet is located in a separate outside shed and there's an outside shower (heated by the wood burner). It may be worth noting that there is no electricity in the Beach Hut - there are a few solar-powered lights and there is running water.
Outside you can relax in the hot tub whilst enjoying a spot of stargazing before snuggling up inside with your loved one, with just the light and warmth of the wood burner as you watch the waves rolling in. Bed linen, towels, tea towels and cleaning products are provided but please bring your own beach towels. Access is from the farm where you park your car, it is a 15-minute walk and a steep path down to the cove - where you will find your own private haven!
The Beach Hut has a set 2-night stay (Friday-Sunday, Monday-Wednesday and Wednesday - Friday) during the months of March - October. Prices range from £550-£950 for 2 nights. No pets or children.
THE MEWS (sleeps 2):
The Mews offers a countryside location, with an open plan living area downstairs including a modern kitchen and dining area. Upstairs, via a spiral staircase, you find the kingsize bedroom with an antique roll-top bath, painted as a cow! Step out of the bedroom onto the terrace and relax in your private hot tub overlooking the stunning views. Wifi is available here along with a telephone, TV and DVD player.
The Mews has a minimum 3 night/4 night stay starting at £295 for 4 nights in the low season and £695 for 4 nights in the high season. Monday and Friday changeover days. No pets. One child can stay, sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge.
