Description

Glamping on Cape Clear Island, is a unique, peaceful and adventurous opportunity to leave the mainland and worries behind. Being Ireland's most southerly Irish speaking inhabited island, situated some 8 miles off the coast of West Cork, makes Cape a pretty special place for your holiday.

Take the 45 minute ferry trip from Baltimore and relax amongst the romantic scenery, while absorbing the tranquil beauty of the island, with its rolling hills and shimmering harbours. The ever-changing colours of the hillsides, where wild flowers mix with yellows and purples of gorse and heather, turning to the rich autumn gold of bracken.

Why not enjoy this magical island with one of the Mongolian Yurts as your home - cosy, comfortable and warm. A wooden lattice forms a circular wall, with decorated poles pointing skyward to the centre window at the top. This framework is covered in thick felt and protective material to make a warm, snug and calm environment perfect for you to relax. With soft furnishings, large scatter cushions, beanbags, real beds and log-burning stove you can feel right at home.

A stay in a stylish bell tent offers a combination of old fashioned camping with a modern desire to be environmentally friendly. Awaken in your bell tent to the sound of waves gently lapping at the rocks below. Open up the doorway to amazing views across the sparkling waters of South Harbour to the hills with quaint meandering roads beyond amidst stone built walls and wild flowers. Mattresses, rugs, cushions and cool box provided. Cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery avaialble. You need to bring your own BBQ/cooking stove.

There is a minimum 2 night stay for the yurts on Saturdays. The yurts sleep up to 6 people.
