The Quirky Tour

A solid and beautifully converted 3 bedroom house on an estate close to the Scottish border and Gretna Green. Lots of woodland and open space to enjoy without neighbours.

We got into the large hot tub to watch the sunset and kept our heads under the lip when the wind got up!

Description

Enjoy a stay with your loved ones at this newly renovated cottage on the Netherby Estate close to the Scottish Border. Sleeping up to 6 guests, it is ideal for 2 couples or a large family and comes complete with its own private hot tub and countryside views.

Refurbished with love, this tranquil escape can be discovered down a driveway, hidden amongst the trees. On the ground floor you can find a cosy sitting room with wood burner and a useful utility room which leads through to a contemporary shower room with WC, ideal for when holidaying with little ones. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you could need for self catering and there is a spacious dining room area with table, 4 chairs and bench seat.

Upstairs there are 2 kingsize bedrooms (one with en-suite) plus a spacious twin bedroom. All rooms have been decorated in a calming style, ideal for that perfect night's sleep. A bathroom with full size bath completes this floor.

Outside you can enjoy a morning cuppa at the al fresco dining table or slip into the warmth of the hot tub. Of an evening, be sure to light the fire pit and enjoy a sing song whilst toasting marshmallows with your loved ones.

Locally you can explore the miles of woodland on your doorstep or go further afield to Carlisle, where you can visit Tullie House or the famous Castle. Spontaneous couples might enjoy a romantic trip to the infamous Gretna Green, just a short distance from Carlisle! Further afield is the Lake District, where you can enjoy a day of hiking or watersports.

If you wish to stay closer to home then a walk around the Border Esk over the swing bridge will take you to Kirkandrews Church. A tasty meal can be enjoyed at the Penton Bridge Inn just 4 miles away.

A maximum of two dogs are welcome for an additional cost of £20 each per stay, but are not allowed upstairs. Dogs must be kept on the lead when outside as there is livestock on site. If you are celebrating then be sure to book a celebration package or campfire kit for an extra treat. Please enquire - these are an extra cost.

Minimum 2 night stay in low season. In July, August and on school holidays there is a Monday arrival for a 4 night stay and Friday arrival for a 3 night stay.
