Hidden away in 18 acres of beautiful woodland you can discover the historic Roundwood Country House and cottages. The cottages offer a little bit of Irish magic with their stone walls and simple decor and offer the perfect rural retreat for couples looking to get away from it all.

The Forge is a beautiful open plan, split level apartment in what used to be the old Forge at Roundwood House. On the ground floor you can discover a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, shower room and cosy lounge with woodburner, TV and Wifi. Climb the stairs to your mezzanine level double bedroom where you can relax with your loved one after a busy day exploring the area.

The Writer's Cottage is a bijou stone cottage hidden away in a corner of Roundwood. It offers a romantic and quaint place to reconnect with your loved one. Here you can get away from all the stresses of modern life and with no Wifi can truly disconnect from the outside world. The cottage has a double bed, cosy lounge with woodburner and 2 armchairs, a shower room and kitchenette facilities.

Be sure to venture out into the surrounding countryside there is no shortage of things to see and do. The Slieve Bloom mountains are a delight for hikers and cyclists of all abilities. Horse-riding, fishing and golfing are also available locally. Meanwhile, foraging, yoga and guided mountain walks can be arranged upon request.

If you wish, you can book breakfast and dinner in the main house for an additional cost. You are also welcome to explore the wonderful library there too.

Dogs welcome at a cost of €20 each per stay.
