Description

Located on the grounds of the Waterloo Cottage Farm, a family-run farm in Great Oxendon, 3 beautiful Yurts are available for the perfect glamping experience, in the wild but without having to give up on any modern comforts. There is even a carbon-neutral wood-burning hot tub for all to enjoy!

Nutkin - sleeps up to 6 people in 1 double and 4 singles

Ginger & Pickles - sleeps up to 6 people in 1 double and 4 singles

Puddleduck - sleeps 2 people in a double bed.

Together this offers a total of up to 14 guests, ideal for family and friends get togethers and even hen parties!

The yurts are kept in a traditional design, but with all amenities. They are spacious and have picturesque views across the farm. Each of them is based on a wooden platform and has a log burner, cosy beds, a roof window to watch the stars and shabby chic furnishings. Each yurt also has its own solar-powered hub to light the yurt and mobiles/tablets (though candles provided are far more romantic).

There are 3 private bathroom huts each with hot water and eco-friendly composting toilets and showers. The shared kitchen is well-equipped, including a kettle, toaster, hob, pans, crockery and cutlery, fridge and microwave but each yurt also has its own BBQ and tools with basic kitchenette facilities. Everything is prepared for self-catering, and there are also special extras such as local food and drink hampers.

Most importantly, to make the stay perfect, guests have access to a wood-fired hot tub from where they can watch the stars at night. Logs for daily use are included in the stay.

The site is easily accessible, being just off the A508, a few miles away from the town of Market Harborough. The yurts are based on a working farm and guests have the opportunity to get to know the farm and to visit the vegetable garden and the orchard when open day activities are planned. Regular events like food making courses and wine tastings are also held on site.

When leaving the farm, the area also offers great opportunities for walking, cycling (Brampton Valley Way can be accessed from here) and other leisure activities. There is an award-winning farm shop and also plenty of eating out opportunities, like a welcoming local pub. Further, visits to Foxton Locks, Kilworth House, Deene Park, Rockingham Castle and surrounding fishing lakes are easy from here. The lovely town of Market Harborough is only 2 miles away and larger cities like Northampton and Leicester, with shops, museums and theatres are also within easy reach (15 and 20 miles).

Perfect for families, there is also plenty to do for children on site, like meeting the long haired cows and the two friendly farm dogs. An indoor trampoline park and Harborough Leisure Centre are not far away.

Dogs are allowed for an additional £5 per dog per night (max 2 dogs per yurt).
