Retreat to the Scottish Borders and enjoy a stay at one of these beautiful properties close to Lauder. Whether you choose the bijou barn, converted water mill, treehouse cabin or fishing hut, you will enjoy peace and tranquillity at this stunning location.

The Bothy is a bijou barn conversion that sleeps up to 4 guests with stylish decor and large open plan living area with wood burner, comfy sofas and chairs and a large viewing window. Take time to enjoy the views of the countryside before watching a movie on the Freesat TV or taking some photos to share with your loved ones using the free wifi. The kitchen diner space has a simple countryside feel to it and comes with all the mod cons you could need to cook a delicious meal which you can enjoy at the wooden dining table.

A twin bedroom can be found on the ground floor and has a gorgeous blue wall decor and rustic headboards which bring the outdoors in. This leads onto the bothy's bathroom with large shower cubicle, soft fluffy towels and complimentary spa style products. Back in the lounge and up the industrial style metal staircase you will discover a gorgeous mezzanine level kingsize bedroom with glass banister that offers views over the living area. If necessary the bed can be split into singles, in case travelling with friends.

Outside you can relax in your walled garden or explore the grounds where you are welcome to the fruits from the orchard. Please note this property is located close to fast flowing water so not suitable for young children.

The Old Mill is a modern conversion of an industrial water mill and now offers a stylish escape for 2 guests. Enter through the original stable-style door into the large open plan living area with high ceiling, quirky Moroccan rug and gorgeous wood-burning stove. The kitchen diner has a rich aubergine decor with sociable island and a large dining area, great for eating or planning your day. There is also a cloakroom with WC on this floor for your convenience.

Upstairs you can discover the original mezzanine floor which now holds a comfortable king size bed and bathroom with freestanding roll top bath, which is big enough to share! Alternatively step into the en-suite shower room with quirky sink and taps.

Step outside the lounge and enjoy the al fresco space of the the small woodland garden area. Relax here with your favourite tipple or a good book to while away the hours.

The Stilt House is a cool treehouse cabin with lakeside location that sleeps 2+1 guests. Inside there is an open plan studio style layout with cosy lounge area with great woodburning/cooking stove and sofa bed for one. Whilst snuggled up to your loved one you can enjoy the views of the countryside through the long windows or catch up on that must read book. With no wifi here, this is the ideal time to disconnect from technology and reconnect with your partner!

A simple kitchen and dining area offers a great space to enjoy a meal whilst outside you can use the firepit for that perfect holiday cuisine. The built in king size bed is only accessible from the end - so suited to those with good mobility, whilst alongside it, the large picture window allows you to wake up to views of nature. Open it up to hear the songbirds first thing, the perfect way to start your morning, and better than an alarm clock any day of the week! At the end of the day you can enjoy a hot shower in the gorgeous green shower room which is just 30 metres from the Stilt House.

The Fishing Hut is a quirky riverside hideaway that embraces off grid living for 2+1 guests. A combination of cabin and vintage caravan, this property seemlessly blends the two together to create somewhere totally unique! The wooden cabin holds the main living part of the property with a sofa, day bed and cosy reading nook. When hunger strikes you can fire up the woodburning/cooking stove and head to the hand made kitchen to prepare a feast. Choose to dine inside at the funky table or outside on one of the two terraces where you can take in the views. Alternatively head down to the firepit and toast some marshmallows for a tasty treat.

When the day draw to an end the comfy but small double bed will draw you into an easy sleep whilst the views of the river in the morning are a fabulous way to start your day feeling fresh and rejuvenated. A high tech eco loo can be found just outside the main entrance to the cabin, whilst shower facilities are located at the Wash House just a few minutes walk away.

Please note this property is located alongside a river that can be fast flowing so is not suitable for little ones.

Whilst here, you can explore the town of Lauder with its fabulous range of shops, cafes and restaurants before heading to the fairytale Thirlestane Castle with its beautiful grounds and interesting history. If you are a fan of a tipple or two before bed, then a trip to the Borders Distillery will delight you with its delicious whisky and craft gins whilst sports fan will love the plethora of hiking and cyling trails nearby.

Children welcome, but please take care with water. One dog welcome in the Old Mil and The Bothy. The Stilt House can take dogs but there are quite a few steps up to the property. The Fishing Hut can take dogs, BUT they need to be on a lead at all times due to the location in the sheep's field.

The longer the stay, the cheaper the price per night! Closed in winter.
