Day 17 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Eco Yurts & Tipis in Carmarthenshire.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
Fabulous views and sheep strewn fields on the approach to this location. The owners are dedicated to running a welcoming off-grid eco friendly site with lots of parts to explore.
Heaven for families who want kids to play away from screens, and for anyone wanting to slow down and take it easy.
Lovely to meet Fran and her daughter who we have worked with since 2014. To wander their self-planted woods and get an understanding of their desire to share this place with others was wonderful.
The Accommodation:
Glamping options under canvas (or a modern version of it). Woodburners to keep you cosy inside and a campfire to sit around and meet others outside.
The communal cosy kitchen cabin is a great place to create a feast and hang out too. Shower rooms are a short stroll away and compost loos too.
There is plenty to entertain guests of all ages on site within the natural environment, but be sure to bring wellies and torches!
A communal firepit is a great place to get warm and cosy, whilst the children will love the large play area in the woodland.
Food and Drink:
Self catering facilities are available, so please remember to bring all food and drink with you. If you wish to venture out then the owners recommend Riverside in Newcastle Emlyn for a great lunch out.
If you are looking for somewhere closer to home then the Lamb of Rhos is just a 5 minute drive away and offers honest pub grup, a warm fire and a pool table. The nearest shop is 3 miles away if you need to pick up any essentials.
Jess' top tip:
Take time to travel to Cardigan Bay, Llangrannog beach, the market town of Newcastle Emlyn or try your luck at dolphin spotting in New Quay.
