Day 42 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom stayed at Elham Granary in Kent, England.
Find out more about their stay:
First Impression:
This is such a pretty place, even in winter, with a cherry tree fruiting just outside and outdoor seating. We could have spent longer here!
Unfortunately owner Mark whom we have worked with since 2021 was away during our visit but we were shown around by the friendly Zlatka.
The Accommodation:
You enter the cabin into the main room with sofa, woodburner, kitchenette and door to shower room.
There is no oven but there is a hob, however we ended up cooking our meal over the woodburner. Plenty of wood was left for us and we kept the cabin lovely and warm.
At night time you climb a steep ladder to reach the double bed above in the mezzanine area. There are book shelves either side of the bed and space to put a drink etc. We had a comfortable night there.
Outside there is a table and chairs on the lawn and you can park up nearby.
Food and Drink:
We were left a few cereal options for breakfast and it was a lovely surprise to get a freshly baked loaf in the morning.
You can cook simple meals here if you don’t want to go out. Bring supplies with you or pick up things at the Elham store.
In the local village there are 3 pubs - Rose & Crown, Abbot’s Fireside and The Kings Arms - that all serve food.
Jess' top tip:
This is a gorgeous area and the owner’s house and gardens are stunning. There is a resident cat with white socked feet!
Just a stroll down the lane there is access to Park Gate Down - you can enter and walk in either direction in lovely scenery passing some animals too.
We had to pass horned cows who seemed - thankfully - uninterested in us!
