Day 24 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Holly Bush & Corn Bent Pods in North Yorkshire.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
A quality well run pod site covering all guests needs. These 2 pods are located at either end of site offering total privacy.
I really liked the individual terrace space with roofed structure to make them weather proof for each pod with a hanging chair and other furniture with a fire pit!
Lovely to meet owners John and Joanne with whom we have worked since 2017. We enjoyed cooking up pizza with them in The Hub communal area.
The Accommodation:
Self check in on arrival means you can be settled in quickly to your warm pod. A bucket of logs are provided, and more can be purchased for the firepit.
This pod has a sofa bed that can be used for 2 extra guests as well as a double bed and an en-suite shower room for convenience.
There is a kitchenette area for cooking simple meals as well as a BBQ and fire pit on your private terrace, where you can sit back and relax taking in the lovely countryside views from the al fresco dining table or swinging cocoon chair.
At any time you can head back into the pod and snuggle up and watch Netflix on the TV, use the free wifi or relax in the warmth of your private hot tub - the ideal place to reconnect. No screens on in there!
Food and Drink:
The pods are self catering and tea and coffee are supplied for your arrival.
Whilst here you can enjoy the use of The Hub communal area which has a pizza oven (you can request use of this for a fee), complimentary drinks station and undercover seating area and tables. This is a great place to meet other guests or to chat to the friendly owners.
A breakfast hamper or luxury hamper is available to order for an extra cost for those looking for an added treat.
Locally the town of Settle is about 5 miles away and here you can find a range of restaurants and shops. I immediately liked the feel of this town.
The owners themselves recommend The Plough at Wigglesworth for a good meal, this is a lovely country pub, just a 5 minute drive away, or a 2 mile walk along a quiet country lane.
Jess' top tip:
This is a great place for a getaway. We really enjoyed making pizzas in The Hub.
Bowland Forest Area of Natural Beauty is nearby and here you can enjoy hiking and cycling. Be sure to ask for the free stargazing pack to make the most of the incredible dark skies here!
