Day 35 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a stay at the Luxury Vineyard Pods site in Nottinghamshire, England.

Find out more about their visit:

First Impression:

Rob, the owner, is really friendly and it was great to meet him after working with him since early 2022.

This is a new vineyard still to bottle its own wine but he is passionate about the British wine industry and preparing his vines to be a part of it.

There are 4 pods in all along the vineyard field that can be booked individually or all for a group booking.

Two are for up to 4 guests with a second twin bedroom and 2 are for couples with one double bedroom.

The Accommodation:

Set within the Nottinghamshire Wolds, these pods offer a great place to retreat to with the vineyard a lovely addition.

The pods are stylish and comfortable on the inside. There is nice bedding and I found the dressing table useful - often in rental places there isn’t a space to get ready!

A good shower room leads off the living area which has a good comfortable sofa, dining table looking out of double doors and a kitchenette.

Two of the pods are for couples only with just a double bedroom whilst the other two pods also have a twin room for a second couple or children.

There is an outdoor table and chairs on the raised decking giving a great view over the vines and alongside the pod you can sit around a firepit on log stumps.

Food and Drink:

The pods offer a comfortable experience so it's great to just bring your own supplies, sit back and relax. Although if you are a wine fan then be sure to order a local bottle of wine for your arrival when booking your stay!

When it comes to self catering it is possible to get a food delivery direct to your pod to save you time on your way here.

On Saturdays foodies will enjoy a visit to the Pear Tree Market for a wide range of delicious food.

If you wish to get out and explore then there is a pub within walking distance at Normanton called The Plough that many guests here like to frequent.

Here you can relax in the fantastic beer garden and enjoy live music on a Friday night. The Griffin pub also comes highly recommened and is also within walking distance.

Alternatively book your own private Master Chef to cook for you for the night!

Jess' top tip:

We enjoyed just spending time in the pod, relaxing around the firepit and taking in the views over the vineyard.

However there are some lovely walks you can take with a footpath going right through the site into the Nottinghamshire Wolds, or you can hop into the car for a short drive and enjoy a walk in the Vale of Belvoir. Here you can visit Belvoir Castle and the Engine Yard which hosts a cafe, bar and adventure playground.

There really is so much to do in this area with plenty of theme parks, learning centres and farms available to visit for great family days out. If you fancy a little culture then head into Nottingham where you can catch a show at one of the theatres before dining out at one of the many restaurants there.
