Day 36 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Silver Star Barn in Warwickshire, England.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
A lovely place to relax and meet friends or family. It’s central position in the country means it is within reach of many.
I loved the fact you could take a good path to walk into the village where there are several pubs.
Although Aidan, whom we have worked with since 2017 was away for our visit, he left us in the capable hands of his friendly helpers Radek and Christina, who have worked here since 2017.
The Accommodation:
Located 12 minutes from Royal Lemington Spa and just over half an hour from Stratford-upon- Avon, this gorgeous property offers a rural retreat centrally located in England.
This barn has a great open aspect garden with covered hot tub area and large table with BBQ, the perfect space for spending quality time together.
The living area is a great social space and the kitchen has a lovely slice of hancrafted cherry tree wood as a breakfast bar.
There are 2 double bed rooms (1 with roll top bath) and a bunk room + singles for 3 more guests.
This is a great house for perhaps 2 families or 2 couples looking for somewhere with lots of space.
Sleeping up to 7 guests, it's an ideal place for a family or group holiday. Dog friendly location!
Food and Drink:
Enjoy cooking up a tasty feast at the property using the well equipped kitchen inside or BBQ area outside.
Should you wish to venture out you can walk to the lively village of Long Itchington to try out the 5 pubs there.
If you are running low on supplies then there is a Co-Op convenience store in the village or just a 10 minute drive away is a Tesco superstore in the town of Southam.
Jess' top tip:
Being in the middle of England means these properties can be easily reached from many places.
You can go into Royal Leamington Spa and take in the Georgian architecture and mineral springs or to Stratford upon Avon as we did. This was a lovely experience.
There are a lot of historic Tudor buildings to admire in the town and a lovely walk along the river as well as the Shakespeare side of things.
Dom and I both really liked the atmosphere of the place and would definitely return.
Closer to the properties there is a quality path that passes the farm and takes you into the village or you can go in the other direction away from it.
If walking towards the village before long the path is crossed by the Millenium Way Trail which is a rougher track that goes for 100 miles in all. So bring your boots and your dog and go walking! Fabulous to return after a walk to a dip in the outdoor hot tub.
