Day 5 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Sunridge Ecopod in Devon.

Find out more about their visit:

First Impression:

Everything you need for a short break in a rural setting 15 mins from the coast. Cosy inside and plenty of space to spread out outside.

We have worked with Damian since 2015 and seen his now long established site grow from strength to strength, with the Eco Pod being added in 2016, so it was lovely to finally meet him.

The Accommodation:

The property is bijou in size but has everything you could need for a romantic getaway with hot tub on a budget.

There is everything you need for a short break - a fold out sofabed for 2, a well equipped kitchen inside and an en-suite shower room.

Fold out the bed and get cosy for a movie night on the 50" TV or challenge your partner to a game on the PS4.

Outside there is a private hot tub, picnic dining table and BBQ for al fresco cuisine and a large lawn area.

The Ecopod is accessed down a few steps and is surrounded by trees for privacy.

Food and Drink:

Some tea and coffee making facilities are available on your arrival but the Ecopod is geared towards self catering with an oven and hob so be sure to come prepared with your favourite meals.

Alternatively the owner recommends The Ship Inn at Noss Mayo, just a short 10 minute drive away, which offers a waterside location with bistro food.

Closer to the lodge you can discover The Rose and Crown just a short 1.5 mile walk away.

Jess' top tip:

Take the short 15 minute drive to Mothercombe Beach or a little further Bigbury-on-Sea Beach where you can enjoy sandy beaches with rockpools or try your hand at watersports including windsurfing and kite surfing.
