Day 18 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Ty Cwch in Ceredigion.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
The location is amazing. A gorgeous pebble beach with a coastal path that led to a surprise island bay with nothing else living there but seals (apparently!). I felt privileged to have come here.
Great to speak with Nigel whom we have worked with on his unique properties since 2021.
The Accommodation:
I loved the design of this container space and could imagine hanging out here - either with other beach lovers or booking the whole thing for friends.
Downstairs there is a shared ‘courtyard’ area with hammock and sofas and table in a cool indoor - outdoor space. Room to bring in the kayak! Off this is a kitchen and washing machine and toilets in containers.
Go upstairs to find 3 separate container bedrooms with 2 sets of bunks each, plus more bathroom facilities. Rent separately or the whole place.
In winter you can keep the social space sheltered with doors shut up, or in summer open up and let the sunshine in.
There are loads of activities you can do in the area but I think I would be perfectly happy to stay at Cwmtydu Beach! It is so low key with only a handful of other properties. I would blow up the paddle board or put on the walking boots to explore. This really is a great innovative space in a special location.
Food and Drink:
The containers are self catering so be sure to bring food and drink with you. Enjoy using the BBQ in the communal outdoor area for that true holiday feeling.
If you wish to eat out then neighbouring New Quay harbour has a range of shops and restaurants.
Jess' top tip:
Love that this is just a short stroll to the beach. Being here off peak is a great opportunity to have the beach more or less to yourself.
Book to come in September / October time to see seals here with their pups.
