Day 19 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Y Stabl in Powys.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
Mid Wales had already proved itself to be beautiful before we arrived here, but the pretty setting for this romantic getaway added another layer to that.
The interior is created with love and individuality for a stay to remember and it was lovely to meet owner Siwan with whom we have worked since 2017, who created this wonderful retreat.
The Accommodation:
This self catering accommodation for 2 guests offers a romantic retreat, where you can hide away from the world for a few days together.
From the hand-made bed, to the funky colourful tiles that separate the bedroom area from the large shower room, to the well equipped kitchen and unique handmade kitchen table, there is truly everything you need here for a relaxing stay.
Outside you can discover your private courtyard area with wonderful jacuzzi hot tub that will be ready for your arrival. What better way to start your holiday than with a relaxing dip, before snuggling up with your loved one.
Food and Drink:
Be sure to bring all food and drink with you so you don't have to leave this gorgeous cottage. Why not order a hamper of chocolates, cheese and crackers for your first night - what a treat!
If you wish to head out and discover the local village of Carno then the local pub Tybrith is a friendly place for a drink, whilst the Aleppo Merchant Inn offers great food and a lovely beer garden. If you need any essentials then there is a Spar shop in the village too.
Jess' top tip:
This is a great place for a romantic break, but there is plenty to explore in the area if you want to.
If you're a keen hiker then the mythical Cadair Irdris mountain walk in Snowdonia is a must.
If visiting mid week then Wednesday is market day in Machynlleth.
Alternatively head to the Elan Valley where you can explore dams and Victorian architecture amid spectacular scenery.
