Description

Located on the grounds of the Waterloo Cottage Farm, a family-run farm in Great Oxendon, you can discover this beautiful yurt for up to 6 guests, for the perfect glamping experience. Enjoy life in the wild but without having to give up on any modern comforts....there is even a carbon-neutral wood-burning hot tub!

The yurt is traditional in design, but with all amenities. It is spacious and sleeps up to 6 guests in a double bed and up to 4 single beds and enjoys picturesque views across the farm. Inside is kept warm and cosy through use of a log burner and there is simple furniture including bed side tables for storage plus a dining area. The roof window offers you a chance to watch the stars of a night time from the warmth of the yurt. Shabby chic furnishings add a welcome feeling to the yurt making you feel right at home. Ginger & Pickles is off grid but has its own solar-powered hub for light and offers enough energy to charge your mobile or tablet.

There is a private bathroom facility with hot water and eco-friendly composting toilet and shower just a short stroll from the yurt. There is also a well equipped shared kitchen which offers a kettle, toaster, hob, pans, crockery and cutlery, fridge and microwave but Ginger & Pickles also has its own BBQ and tools with basic kitchenette facilities. Everything is prepared for self-catering, and there are also special extras such as local food and drink hampers.

Most importantly, to make the stay perfect, guests have access to a wood-fired hot tub from where they can watch the stars at night. Logs for daily use are included in the stay.

The site is easily accessible, being just off the A508, a few miles away from the town of Market Harborough. The yurts are based on a working farm and guests have the opportunity to get to know the farm and to visit the vegetable garden and the orchard when open day activities are planned. Regular events like food making courses and wine tastings are also held on site.

When leaving the farm, the area also offers great opportunities for walking, cycling (Brampton Valley Way can be accessed from here) and other leisure activities. There is an award-winning farm shop and also plenty of eating out opportunities, like a welcoming local pub. Further, visits to Foxton Locks, Kilworth House, Deene Park, Rockingham Castle and surrounding fishing lakes are easy from here. The lovely town of Market Harborough is only 2 miles away and larger cities like Northampton and Leicester, with shops, museums and theatres are also within easy reach (15 and 20 miles).

Perfect for families, there is also plenty to do for children on site, like meeting the long haired cows and the two friendly farm dogs. An indoor trampoline park and Harborough Leisure Centre are not far away.

Up to 2 dogs are allowed for an additional £5 each per night.
