La Joya de Cabo de Gata is a farm with two adjacent farmhouses converted into charming rustic cottages for 2/4 guests each, styled with a mix of Andalucian and North African touches. Lovely accommodation close to the attractive coastal village of Agua Amarga which is in the Conservation Area known as Cabo de Gata. This excellent accommodation offers the quality of service of a hotel along with pool and hot tub.

In the farmhouses known as “Cala en Medio” and “Cala El Plomo” you will feel like the guest of honour in the house of somebody who loves ancient Andalusian culture. Each of the houses has two bedrooms, bathroom, lounge with an open fireplace, an open plan kitchen-dining room and two large, open covered terraces that face East or North East in order to make the most of the sun or to offer shelter from the wind. There is under-floor heating using water heated by solar panels.

The farm consists of a hill of about one hectare that has been landscaped with native plants to convert the place into a miraculous oasis in the middle of the desert. There is an open air Jacuzzi, swimming pool in the style of a Roman Bath, solariums, open air showers amongst the vegetation and large, shaded areas to rest, read and relax in. There is also an Arabian Pavilion to relax in: an open air barbecue and picnic area together with a viewing point that looks down to the ocean.

The whole farm has been designed and is run on ecological principles; this includes water treatment, solar energy used for the heating and hot water and pool, the construction and insulation of the buildings, waste recycling, and irrigation.

Riding stables are just 100m away, with pony rides for young children. Other arrangeable excursions are 4x4 or camels into the desert or scuba diving, sailing, boat trips from Agua Amarga.

Minimum stay 5 nights in peak season and 2 nights for the rest of the year.
