Get up into the mountains, feel at one with nature and stay in the peaceful retreat of Mar de la Carrasca near the hillside town of Vilahermosa del Riu. Look out at the panoramic and stunning view, slow down and relax, order healthy meals and maybe join a yoga class on the outdoor platform. There are nearby hikes to enjoy, including to spectacular waterfalls or up the mountain Peyagolosa.

El Barco is a special and unique accommodation for 2 with wood burner, bath with overhead shower in the living area, outdoor seating with view, kitchenette and table and chairs where the owners can bring you tasty meals. Overhead is the double bedroom with a round window looking out over the lush hill tops. A 3rd person can be added on a sofabed in the lounge or 2 children.

Inside the main property there is other accommodation perhaps for a group or couples. This is a perfect space for a yoga retreat as there is a beautiful platform to practise on, or inside if the weather makes that necessary.

Water to bring and wash in here is from a mountain spring.

The owners Isabel and Alberto do not speak English but are very friendly and welcoming and will make an effort to communicate with you. Isabel practises yoga. Both provide healthy meals, and artisan beers and wines are available. Choose to cook for yourselves or order meals in advance (around 25€ per head).

Prices can include meals. 2 night minimum stay on the weekend.

No pets as the owners have their own friendly dogs at the property.

Pre-pay by bank transfer or bring cash.

Fly to Castellon and hire a car. It is about 1.5 hours drive from the airport and despite its remote location can be reached using satnav. No WiFi or TVs in the rooms.
