Nestled into the Mendip hills Mendip House is a beautiful old stone farmhouse with spectacular views overlooking the Cheddar valley and the town of Axbridge. The facade has a French feel which its owner, Soraya, has emphasised in the use of colour and rustic decor.

The house itself is great for large family gatherings or a get together with friends. The ground floor is spacious with an open plan area. There is a well equipped kitchen with French doors that open out to a patio, here you can enjoy dining al fresco whilst taking in the views. Inside you will find a large dining / lounge area with an open double sided fire place that also opens to a separate cosy snug with TV and DVD library, with sofas either side of the fire place, perfect for those evenings when you just want to chill out and relax.

There is also an outside sofa with firepit, perfect for summers evenings looking at the stars and chatting to friends.

Upstairs on the first floor, you can find a spacious kingsize bedroom with a door leading to the side garden, plus a cosier double room and a larger bathroom with shower and bath. Be sure to run yourself a long bath after a day hiking in the local area and enjoy the views through the window of the trees and sky. There is also a separate toilet on this floor.

Climb the stairs to the top floor, (careful they are a little steep) and you will discover a gorgeous open plan space with double bed and single bed, plus an en-suite bathroom. This is great for the couple that want to enjoy a little privacy during their stay as there is a cosy lounge area here with a large selection of books to enjoy too! The bathroom is spacious and features a gorgeous original stone wall plus handmade Mexican shower tiles. There is also a double bedroom with access to the garden at the back of the house and woods.

There are also 2 sofa beds, one single in the snug and a double in the art studio.

The house is set within an acre of garden in front of a beautiful woodland so there is plenty of space to play, walk and explore. There is a camping area which has access to the top floor bathroom and is available should you wish to celebrate an event and invite more people who enjoy a night under the stars. A recent addition of a wood fired hot tub now proudly sits in this area, although in the top garden it still has great views over looking the Somerset levels.

Locally there is plenty to explore with Cheddar Gorge just a short car journey away offering a great family day out. Alternatively just enjoy a stroll to the local pub or a hike in the stunning Mendip Hills. I will give you more infomation when you book.
