Description

Built and designed by a local master craftstmen, Mimi's Tree Yurt sleeps 2 in a wonderfully romantic setting. A favourite with honeymooners, it is set in a beautiful location near the Black Mountains close to Abergavenny. It has beautiful sweeping views and is very peaceful so is the ideal place to unwind and enjoy a simple life.

Mimi's Tree Yurt has been intricately woven together - pole by pole, and offers a spacious interior with a king-size bed with top quality mattress and bamboo bed linen plus a comfy leather sofa. Sit back and relax in the gorgeous copper bathtub with a book or simply enjoy the sounds around you. Alongside the yurt you can cook up a storm in the hand-built chestnut kitchen cabin with its simple gas hob and dining table. Your bathroom with eco loo is also located here.

Outdoors you can cool off in your idyllic al fresco shower or enjoy dining making use of the BBQ area. Of an evening light the firepit and snuggle up with your loved one at this romantic setting.

Locally you can enjoy hiking in the stunning Brecon Beacons or alternatively, if you looking for some adrenaline raising activities, try your hand at mountain biking at The Black Mountain Cycle Centre just down the road, or supertubing in nearby Ebbw Vale. Those interested in history can enjoy a day out at the cathedral city of Hereford before heading over to any number of local castles to explore. There are an extraordinary number of wonderful places to eat locally from the famous Walnut Tree, and The Hardwick, to the owner's favourite local pub The Carpenters Arms which is within walking distance.

Up to 2 dogs welcome at an extra cost of £20 each per stay, but must stay on a lead at all times due to grazing livestock. No children although a babe in arms is welcome.

Monday arrivals for a 4 night stay and Friday arrivals for a 3 night stay. Closed in winter.

Eco Credentials:

We are fully off grid with the units running on solar power for electricity and wood for heating. The accommodation does not have plug sockets. We have charging points and a fridge freezer located in the stables (by guest arrival). Hot water is provided by gas boilers. Our wonderful toilets are composters, which we love, allowing us to minimise our impact on the planet. Our farm is organic and we are applying regenerative agriculture principles as well as seeking to increase biodiversity. We use only Eco-Cleaning products. All our bed linen is made from natural materials (bamboo). Toilet paper and kitchen roll are bamboo based so fully compostable.

FAQs

What should we bring?

Bring all food, slippers, wellies, a torch and possibly thermals for night time. If you are noise sensitive - earplugs for the morning chorus.

Do you supply wood?

Yes we provide you with a large basket and some natural firelighters. If you need more you can purchase it on site.
